rare adj.稀少的,稀罕的;珍贵的
拓展:
rare for sb./ sth. to do sth.对某人/某物来说做某事很稀罕
rare to do做某事很难得,很稀罕

vt 比…活得长, 经历…之后还存在

to have survived 为动词不定式的完成式,表示不定式的动作发生在谓语动词之前。
search v.&n. 搜寻;搜查
search sp/sb 搜查某地点或搜身 search for sth/ sb = look for 搜寻某物或某人

在某地/某人身上搜查…
in search of 寻找
注意:search的宾语是搜寻的范围,而search for的宾语是搜寻的对象。
例:

注意:

amaze vt 使惊奇
amaze sb 使某人惊奇
例:It amazed me to hear that you were leaving.
be amazed at/by 对…大为惊奇
例:We were amazed at his rapid recovery.
be amazed to do sth . 对做某事感到惊讶
例:I am amazed to see such a bad accident.
辨析:amaze, surprise与astonish
amaze令人惊愕;含有惊叹、佩服之意
surprise让人诧异,出乎意料;常用来表示吃惊,但语气较弱。
astonish使大吃一惊(=surprise greatly)

注意:
当way前有形容词作定语时,in不省略。

辨析:
missing为形容词,表示“失去的,下落不明的”,可用作定语或表语。
lost是lose的过去分词,强调“迷路的,不再拥有的,可作定语或表语。
gone是go的过去分词,表示“过去的,以往的,遗失的”,多作表语。
例:The missing boy, who was lost in the forest two days ago, is now gone again.
remove vt.
(1)移走;移开;搬开
remove sth. from 把…从某处移开
remove sth. to 把某物移到…
Please remove your bag from the seat.
(2)除掉;清楚
The doctor tried to remove the patient's fear.
(3)脱掉

辨析: remove , move
共性:两者均可用作动词,表示“移动”。
remove侧重于“拿开,取走”
move表示“移动,搬动”,侧重于改变位置。
