Teaching Introduce
My subject is the first period of the revision part in Travel Journal, from New Senior English for China,Book 1,Unit 3.
There are six parts in my introduce. They are analysis of the teaching material, the teaching aims and methods, the important and difficult points, analysis of the students , the studying methods, and the teaching procedure.
Part 1 Analysis of Teaching Material
Status and function:The theme topic of this module is travel journal, including the trip down the river, the scenery and life along the river, trying to promote our awareness of protecting our environment. After the revision, Ss will be better at solving problems involved in such topic.
By studying this, using listening and writing rules,reading and writing rules, students can master some important words ,phrases and sentences. we should also make students understand some difficult sentences and put them into use . At the same time,Ss can improve their listening ,speaking and writing ability.
According to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus , and after studying the teaching material, the teaching aims are the followings:
1.Knowledge objects
(1) The Ss should master some important words and phrases such as prefer, persuade and determine
(2) The Ss should use the Present Perfect Tense in the proper situation.
(3) The Ss should understand the lesson , talk about the advantages of bicycles .
2. Ability objects
(1) To develop the Ss’ abilities of listening , reading , writing and speaking.
(2) To guide Ss to set up effective studying ways.
(3) To train the Ss’ abilities of cooperative learning.
3. Emotion objects
By learning this lesson, the Ss increase their interest in cycling and make them save energy and reduce pollution
Part 2 the Important and Difficult Points
Based on the requirement of the syllabus.
The difficult point is Present Perfect Continuous Tense such as People have been enjoying the benefits of cycling in Amsterdam for years.
The important points :
1.Important words and phrases:
1)Words:prefer,persuade,determine
2)Phrases:make up one’s mind,give in ,care about
2 .Sentences:
a.insist﹢Object Clause
b.adj ﹢ to do
c)Present Continuous Tense for future actions
P art 3 Analysis of the students
They are lack of vocabulary.
Some students are weak in English and can not express themselves in English.
Some students are very shy and are afraid of making mistakes.
So I will help my students overcome these difficulties during my class.
Part 4 Teaching Methods and Aids
We all know , a good teaching method is not only to give the students the knowledge but also to help the students get the knowledge and solve the problems which they meet . For achieving these teaching aims, I will use the following methods :Task-based Language Teaching ,Revision method , Communication and debate methods ,listening method and Consolidation method.
Teaching aids:
Multi-media computer, some pieces of chalk , a recorder, a blackboard and so on.
Part 5 Learning methods
Autonomous learning ,Cooperative learning.
Part 6 Teaching Procedure
Basis to carry out
Step 1. Vocabulary and derived ___context mnemonic
Step 2 Phrases and expand
Step 3 Sentences and use
Step 4 Unit knowledge transfer
a) Translate
b) Connect sentences into an article.
Step 5. Homework
Homework is so important and necessary for the students to master the knowledge which they learned after class. It will check whether the Ss achieve the teaching aims.
Besides,a good blackboard design plays an important part in the English teaching.If the design is clear and simple,it is easier for the students to understand the lesson and remember the important points.
