Get Ss to know these: What’s=what is I’m=I am name’s=name is等缩写形式。

Step1 Warm-up & Revision
T: Good morning. / Good afternoon. Boys and girls.
Ss: Good morning. / Good afternoon.
T: How are you?
Ss: I’m fine, thank you. How are you?
T: I am fine, too. Thank you, sit down please. First let’s chant together.
Let Ss chant together “Aa, Ee, Ii, Oo, Uu”
T: Now, look at these words, who can read? Have a try.

Step 2 Lead-in
T: Now look around our classroom, what can you see? Tell me the things you can see in our classroom. We will be divided into four groups, let’s see which one is better.

Step3 Presentation
Present the picture in 1a
T: Now look at the picture carefully, there are so many people there, they’re talking and say hello to each other. Now take out your English book, turn to Page1. And look carefully, and then write down the words for the things in the picture.
Then check the answers with the whole class.
T: Look at the picture again, they are talking. Let’s look one by one.

B: Hello, Cindy. I’m Dale.
A: Nice to meet you.

4. T: (Show a teacher’s picture)

T: Work in pairs do ask and answer.
Step4 Listening and practice
Show the pictures in Section A 2a.
T: Do you know their names? What’s his name? What’s her name? Let’s listen to the tape and try to find the answers. Listening again and circle the names you hear. Then practice the conversations in pairs.
