Step 1
Greetings.
Ask some questions, make them relax.
Encourage Ss to share their vacation with the whole class.
To say welcome back to school, boys and girls. How was your summer vacation?
Did you enjoy your summer vacation?
Stalk about their summer vacation with the students. Then answer my question.
Step 2
Lead students to learn the key words.
Show the key words (always usually often sometimes hardly ever never) on the screen.
Let them understand their differences at the fist time.
Ask some questions.
Do you remember your last vacation?
How did you spend it?
Was it the same as this summer vacation?
So what do you often do in your summer vacation?
Show some phrases for Ss to practice.
Show the adverbs.
Ss try to answer the question above, according to their own situations, using the adverbs what they learned.

Pair work Give some phrases, like do homework go to the movies go fishing go skateboarding exercise surf the internet go
Show the dialogue
What do you(does he/she) usually do on weekends?

Practice the two sentences with the partner.
Learn how to use the adverbs.
Step4
Learn the target language.
How often do you(does she/he)…?
I/She/He often …once a week/night.
Talk about how often sb do things.
Ask the students some questions.
How often does…. go skateboarding?
How often do you surf the Internet?
……
Let some students answer these questions.
Two students ask and answer using the target sentences.

Make a report about themselves.
Make a report
What do you usually do on weekends?
After the survey, Ss make a report.
On weekends, I always .., I usually…

Interview one of your family members how often he/she does something, and then make a report.

课后反思
本节课的重点是频度副词(always/often/usually),重点句型有How often do you(does she) …?环节的安排也是以让学生熟练句型为目标。每个环节的过度语不是很流畅,环节的衔接处理的不好。最后的语言训练的环节应该给学生更多的时间。
